Submission Guidelines
Content.
The ADRR is only seeking quality manuscripts about major downtown needs, issues and trends. They should be thoughtful analytically and evidence driven. Articles must have broad salience and their recommendations broad applicability within the field. They can be about large downtowns or small ones, be they in densely or sparsely populated areas, or experiencing thriving or faltering economies.
The quality of a manuscript will be the key factor in our decision about accepting a manuscript. The author's professional bio will not.
Article Length.
The ADRR will publish short reads and long reads. Articles of 1,500 to 5,000 words will be considered. Multi-part articles of exceptional merit and salience will also be considered. What counts is their quality, not their length, nor the author’s current position or past achievements.
Author Responsibilities:
- Proofreading: Authors must have their articles thoroughly proofread prior to submission. The ADRR will edit content, but not grammar and spelling. Poorly proofed manuscripts will be rejected.
- Using The ADRR’s Template. Once their articles are accepted, authors are responsible for transferring their articles texts and graphics into a MS Word template that will be provided by The ADRR’s editor when the article is accepted for publication. The use of the template is essential for identifying the articles as being published by The ADRR.
- Font. Our font is Calibri
- Endnotes. Please use endnotes instead of footnotes. Within the text, designate their position and number using the superscript font
- Contact Info. Please provide simple identification and contact information such as name, title and organization, email address.
- Signing a Copyright Agreement. Articles will not be published unless the author(s) have signed a copyright agreement that gives The ADRR the legal right to publish the article. An agreement form will be provided by The ADRR’s editor when the article is accepted for publication. It is a non-exclusive agreement that gives authors ample opportunities to reuse their texts.
