This webinar explores the powerful overlap of four interrelated downtown niches:
· Arts & culture
· Older adults / aging well
· Local Food and beverage
· Tourism
At the center of this overlap is a highly influential psychographic: “yupsters” (older, affluent, culturally engaged residents and visitors). Communities that successfully attract this group often find that strength in one niche creates momentum for the other three—whether or not a formal creative district exists. This session reframes downtown success through a systems lens, showing how arts, aging, and hospitality can be intentionally aligned to create places that are economically resilient, socially vibrant, and relevant across the lifespan.
